FAQ

  1. Does the Buyer have responsibilities before purchasing a property from Country Places?
    1. We’ll do our best to help you understand every aspect of the real estate you purchase from Country Places. We want you to be completely satisfied with your new property, and we’ll assist you in any way we can. However, it is your responsibility to read and understand the property description, contracts, etc. We encourage you to learn everything you can about the property. You can do this through the county clerk’s office, by contacting us at Country Places and by physically visiting the property.
  2. Will my new property automatically include mineral rights?
    1. The short answer: it depends on the property. If Country Places owns the mineral rights, we include them in the sale. If we don’t own them, you’ll need to contact an attorney or title search company for more information on purchasing the mineral rights.
  3. Does my new property have zoning I should know about?
    1. Some of the land owned by Country Places is zoned residential. Other properties don’t have any zoning. We recommend that you contact the county in which your property is located to confirm any zoning or restrictions.
  4. Once I buy my land, do I have a time limit to start building?
    1. Unless we specifically state a building time limit in the listing, our properties don’t have one. You can use your land to camp, hunt, hike … unless we state otherwise, you don’t have to build at all, if you don’t want to!
  5. Can someone from Country Places show me the property in person?
    1. Yes! Schedule a time with one of Country Places representatives by emailing the land rep found on the staff page or by calling 1-800-239-LAND.
  6. Do Country Places properties have recent surveys?
    1. It depends on the property. Often, our properties have a past survey, but the boundaries are unlikely to still be marked. In order to keep prices low for our customers, Country Places usually doesn’t order a new survey. If there is a recent survey, we’ll state it in the listing and provide it to you upon request.
  7. I’m ready to to buy! How do I get started?
    1. Congratulations! Now that you’ve found your dream property, let us know by contacting the land rep or by calling 1-800-239-LAND. Here’s what you can expect next:
      ● You’ll pay a $600 closing cost fee.
      ● We’ll mail you your land contract. Please read it thoroughly, and don’t hesitate to ask questions. The contract will include the purchase price and monthly payment, along with other relevant information.
      ● Once you understand everything, sign, notarize and return the document to us through the mail.
      ● Once we receive the contract we will countersign and return it to you.
      ● After that, you’ll send us monthly payments.
      It’s that simple!
  8. Is it difficult to qualify for financing?
    1. No! Country Places offers financing to everyone 18 years or older. Really. We don’t do background or credit checks.
  9. How do I make my payments?
    1. The easiest way to make payments is on our website via debit or credit card. We’re also happy to take, checks, cashier’s checks or money orders to:
